Roselawn Round Up
Weekly Newsletter for Roselawn Families September 7, 2020
I hope everybody had a great weekend! I would like to thank all the parents and students for a great opening 4 days last week. We had to make some minor adjustments through the week but by Friday things were going pretty smooth.
I want to especially to thank our students for doing such a great job wearing their masks throughout the week.
We look forward to getting week 2 underway!

Morning Drop Off Routine
We want to start by thanking our families for your patience and understanding as we work to improve some of our processes. Our school year is off to a great start. To keep our students and families safe, we want to address our morning drop off.
We believe we can help with the overall safety and efficiency by asking our families to drop off their children on the Roselawn side (west side) of 6th street. This would get all the traffic flowing in one direction from north to south and it would eliminate the need for families to walk across 6th Street. The traffic flow would be in the same direction as what we are doing for our after school parent pick-up. You do not have to use the app to announce your arrival for drop off in the morning.
As you drop off your children, please remain with your vehicle at all times. We do know that you may need to assist your younger children on getting out of the vehicle. This is absolutely fine. Once your children are safely out of the car and on the sidewalk, we ask our families to pull forward to help the next set of vehicles find a place to drop off their children. We will have several staff members spread out along the sidewalks to help our children get into the building safely.
We want to make this change in an effort to keep everyone safe and to develop an efficient drop off process that allows our families to get to their next destination in a timely manner. Thank you for making this a great start to the school year. It is an exciting time for us to have your children back in the building. They have adapted well and are doing great things. We wish everyone all the best.
Summer Meals Extended for CWASD Families
Good news, Bulldogs! The USDA has extended the summer meal program! That means ALL of our students 18 years of age and younger will receive free breakfasts and lunches through December 31, or until USDA funds are no longer available (we will announce if/when that happens.) There is no need to put money in your account for the time being.
Free meals do not extend to second meals or ala carte items, so students who eat a second meal or buy ala carte items will want to have money in their food account.
